Welcome to our second ever blog post! This one is dedicated entirely to the design elements of our latest development of boutique homes by the lake in Trout Creek Summerland called Wharfside Landing.
We completed this build at the end of December and staged it with laid back living in mind. The goal was to create our signature coastal vibe with the addition of some elevated, timeless elements. We chose to create three arched hallways on the main level to create equal parts character and balance. The first archway creates a charming entrance to the primary suite. The second welcomes you into the dreamy ensuite.
On the main floor the kitchen was designed for maximum function with the beautiful details front of mind. We sourced the accessories and paired them to act as the ‘jewelry’ in this space. The brushed brass pulls added the ultimate sophistication with the same element featured on the classic, bell-shaped pendants adorning the kitchen island. Again, we aimed to create beauty and balance in this utilitarian space.
The understated hero of this home is the beautiful millwork. We enlisted the help of our friends at Ethic Millwork to create the custom shaker cabinetry throughout. You can see the same quality craftsmanship on the stunning staircase leading to the second floor. With another nod to the craft you’ll find coastal inspired wood cladding in the secondary bathrooms.
We know that the design is in the details, that function and beauty can absolutely change the feel of a space. From the arched hallways to the thoughtfully selected brushed, brass hardware in the kitchen this home has a custom built feel. Our design team was feeling all sorts of inspired when they dreamt this one up!
We had so much fun designing and building this beautiful home and it all started with dreaming up a fun way to market this development, our tiny showhome.
